Parameters of Content:

The type of activities we're looking for:

The cornerstone of our Atlases are adventure travel experiences.

  • Adventure travel content that's in the "middle 80%". If you imagine a spectrum of activities with the most touristy activities on the far right 10%, and the most fragile secret places on the far left 10%, we hope to share the middle 80% of unique adventure travel activities.

  • Adventure travel is defined as any activity based in local culture and nature, typically with physical activity.

However, a well rounded Atlas includes lots of important information like food, transportation, lodging, and must-see’s. It’s like a friend is visiting from out of town and you’re recommending what they should do. You can choose to do a general itinerary of the best activities or a specific perspective (like a food tour or best views).

Simple Content Checklist:

  • The Atlas has a few adventure travel experiences

  • Travelers will know where to get a couple great meals (even better if they are unique to that destination)

  • Personal tips for around getting from place to place are included

Quality markers:

  • can you find most of the Experiences easily on Google? (It shouldn't be easily found online)

  • Are each of the Atlas details sections at least 3 sentences?

    • Including a personal insight about your perspective of a location? or insider tips on how to have the best experience?

  • Are there places or cultural customs that locals would want travelers to know about? (in order to enjoy and treat the environment with respect)

  • Do the photos show the main activity of the Experience without revealing name?

  • Does the title creatively capture the theme of the Atlas?

  • Do all the Experiences have the exact address of the activity?

  • Does the “About You” section explain why your perspective is valuable?

Content the Quality Review is not approving:

  • Atlases that only have common tourist attractions that can be easily found on Google. You can include the must-see attractions, but try to add personal recommendations that make the activity feel less generic.

  • Irrelevant or inappropriate content

  • Misleading or inaccurate content

FAQs:

Say someone posted an Atlas (itinerary) that looks a lot like yours, how to make it stand out to be accepted?

  • If there is an Atlas that looks very similar to yours, you can still post it as long as you think you have a unique perspective on those places. A good rule of thumb is to not have over 60% of the same activities as another Atlas.

How much detail should I include in an Experience or Atlas?

  • Only the essential info needed for the traveler to have the best experience at that place.

  • Also see the Demo Experience and Demo Atlas on the posting screen.

What is considered an Experience?

  • An experience includes any activity of significance. That could be a hike or a restaurant as the obvious examples. An Experience could also be a walking path to the next destination or a viewpoint along the way.
