Experience Guidelines
Planning with Atlas in mind
Simple steps to post an Experience
Breakdown of each section
Completing your Experiences
The core of each Atlas (itinerary) are the Experiences. Our goal is to create the place with the most unique and personal experiences online. To do that we want to enable every adventure traveler to share their unique experiences of places they know well. We get to share experiences that are off the beaten path of the normal tourist traps and the top 10 lists of large travel agencies. We want to create a more personal community where you have a friend that knows your interests in every city.
The Experience title is an important area that will be public before purchase. Try to make these intriguing without being revealing. You can think of it as a catchphrase for the activity.
Ex. Easy hike with the best views of the city!, Best burger in town with a twist, Unique coffee shop with free books!
If you can't remember a certain important detail about an Experience, feel free to search for it online! Just make sure to put the description in your own words.
Right now you can only post one photo (more to come soon), so try to capture as much of the place as possible without revealing any signs or landmarks.
An Experience includes any activity of significance. That could be a hike or a restaurant as the obvious examples. An Experience could also be a walking path to the next destination or a viewpoint along the way.
Each Atlas is a trip itinerary from your unique perspective. You may like more outdoor activities or you may have a specific activity interest that you try to see each city through. A few examples are:
Camping through (location)
Seeing (city) through its coffee shops
A photographer's view of (city)
Vegan eats in (city)
Best running routes in (city)
Quick Day trip from (city)
Think of a trip to a place you know well and gather photos of unique activities in an album
Most people start with a day trip, you can always add to it later. Plan for around 3-4 Experiences per day
Add Experiences in the Atlas Builder including essential logistics and personal recommendations
Start with a draft and continue filling in the details before you submit your Atlas!

After completing all the individual Experiences it will go through a short review process (after your Atlas is submitted) to confirm each section is appropriately filled. If any Experiences need changes, an email will be sent to revise the Experience. Once all edits are approved the Experience status will be changed on your profile! The review process will take 1-3 days.
