Merchants can create a Promo Link for their published atlases. Promo Links are a feature added to make it easier for merchants to market and make money from their content.
These links are special because they:
give the merchant a higher cut of a purchase
take the traveler using the link directly to checkout
Links are created by using the "Create Promo Link" button in the share menu of an atlas.
The link takes the form of:
iwaandr.com/load/direct-checkout?atlas={atlas-id}
It's important the link is left unchanged as otherwise it may not work as expected.
When a traveler clicks that link, it will take them directly to the iWaandr checkout page to purchase the itinerary. In the case they are not already logged in, the traveler will be taken through the log in flow and be directed back to the checkout once logged in. If the traveler chooses not to purchase immediately, the itinerary will remain in their bag until it is deliberately removed by the user.
Once the itinerary is purchased, you (the merchant) will receive your share! A merchant usually receives a roughly 60% cut of a transaction (standard rate for digital content). If the traveler used your Promo Link to purchase, you will receive an 80% cut instead.
iWaandr takes extensive measures to ensure that even if a traveler does not purchase immediately, you still receive your increased cut. This includes not purchasing immediately, removing the itinerary from their bag and adding it back later, logging out and logging back in, and more.
However, as hard as we try, bugs exist and something unexpected may have happened. If you have reason to believe you did not receive a higher cut when you should have, please reach out to us at connect@iwaandr.com and we'll help rectify the situation.
